I also ride a snowmobile, but I think I could outrun a bee.

This is why when people ask me what I do I often say that I provide adult daycare.

I don't get it.

Is an established race involved, every time a bee decides to alight on a human?

When's the last time someone was stung by a bee in the middle of winter in Michigan?

Some new money sunt in Kroger kept calling her 2-3 year old a princess. About 20 times.

Is there something in teacher school that promotes the idea of calling the kids "friends"? We've had a couple who refer to their young charges as "friends" when asking them to line up, quiet down or stop doing stuff. It grates on my ears because it sounds so fake but the kids just accept it, as kids do.

The Mennonite section of the family will state brother-this/sister-that when referencing non-family who are not present. They're sincere and it sounds comforting when they say it.

But the "princess"...? Odds are even that she'll be shitting her pants in surprise when she is in actual circulation, sitting across the desk from a regular guy and interviewing.

You hear that a lot these days. It's used as a collective term. I prefer "rotten kids" myself.

My mom used Polish words to address the classroom of "rotten kids." Gapa and fuyata are seared into their brains, and most of her former students who are friends with her on Facebook remember them as terms of endearment.

Edit: almost forgot the penultimate... shla-mada zada.

Said to me in the copier room by one of our twenty-something Strive coordinators (who, I might add, is pretty easy on the eyes and dressed up in a slightly slutty Halloween costume)

Carly: Does coming have one 'm' or two?
Me: Hmmm.......I don't know. Use it in a sentence
Carly: Wha------Oh my God!!!!!
(loud laughter)
Me: It only has one
Carly: I feel like it should have two
Me: Well, if you put two, just make sure you change the 'o' to a 'u'. it's a rule in English, right?
Carly: Wha-------Oh my God!!!!!!! I can't believe I said that!!!!!!
Me (Darth Vader voice): All too easy

Assume her Iphone was on record, evidence for when she drops a sexual harassment lawsuit that'll pay her big time, regardless of who started the dirty talk. Smart people- especially those with a little bit of workplace power- avoid the twenty-something honey traps like the plague.

overhead page the other night: "______ ______ please call your child's father". I turned to whoever was next to me and we both said "doesn't she mean baby daddy?".

yesterday afternoon, a detective: "...look, did this happen outside or in the apartment?...the problem with lying is that the stories never match, this just happened and already it doesn't add up...if it was an accident...Hey, I know getting shot is stressful, I've been shot myself, of course I wasn't drunk when I got shot...look, I like you, I know you're a good person, know how I know that?, do you want to know how I know you're a good person?, because you're a terrible liar, you might be the worst liar ever, so I know you're not a bad person or you'd know how to lie...".
