We might have covered this when it happened...

Woman who shot lover over poor sexual performance offered bond

Sadie Bell, 58, of Southfield, was convicted in April of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, after she shot Edward Lee in the stomach following an argument in her apartment.

“The defendant was upset that the victim did not ejaculate enough and accused him of cheating,” Chief Assistant Prosecutor Paul Walton said.

In a later statement, Bell said she was upset by Lee’s poor performance. She also accused him of cheating on her after noting that he hadn’t produced much ejaculate after their tryst.

“She was pretty graphic about why she had shot him,” Assistant Oakland County Prosecutor Paul Walton said. “She was convinced he was having an affair. She reached this conclusion by the fact that he didn’t produce enough ejaculate. So she shot him in the stomach.”

Lee, 60, spent five weeks in the hospital and underwent major surgeries for damage to his pancreas, colon, liver and kidney.

Dude is a dribbling 60. What'd she expect? Peter North?

A jury has found a Dearborn Heights man guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges for the deadly shooting of an unarmed woman on his porch.

That didn't take long. How does he get murder and manslaughter? I figured it was one or the other. Myself, I thought it sounded more like manslaughter, but this guy is so dumb I'd give him a pass. Innocent by reason of stupidity.

He can be sentenced to life in prison on the second-degree murder rap. His attorneys almost certainly will appeal the verdict and a friend who knows one of the lawyers said they pretty much had a ready-made appeal dropped into their lap when the judge opted to conduct voire dire instead of allowing the lawyers to do so. Mack Carpenter, one of the defense attorneys for Wafer, defended Leonard Tyburski, the guy who clocked his wife and stuffed her into a freezer way back when, and actually won a new trial claiming it was improper for the judge to do the voire dire given the extensive media coverage of the case.

As for Wafer, the dumbfuck was dead in the water when they played a tape of his interview with police 30 minutes after the shooting and he told them he loaded his shotgun after he found someone had shot paintballs at his car in his driveway. Even the dumbest of juror could listen to that and realize that if this idiot wanted to shoot kids hitting his car with paintballs, it wasn't out of the question to expect him to come to the door with a gun when a drunk kid was beating on the door.

And he found his cellphone, the one he said he couldn't find as the banging intensified, seconds after he shot her.

Too bad the judge remanded him to custody to await sentencing. If I was 55 and facing the prospect of life in prison, I'd go buy a new shotgun and off myself.
My hand to God, she's gonna be at Carnegie Hall. But you - I'll let you have her now at the old price, OK? Which is, which is anything you wanna give me. Anything at all.

This whole deal reminded me of the door knocker game we played as kids and makes me wonder if I'd ever been close to suffering the same fate.

In the wee hours of the morning we'd tape a short length of fishing line with a heavy bolt tied to it to the lower part of someone's storm door. Then from the bolt a really long length of fishing line would be spanned across the street where we'd hide in the shrubbery of someone else. Then we'd tug the fishing line causing the bolt to bang on the door and try to stifle our hysterical laughter as the porch light came on, curtains flung about, etc. Lights would go out and 5 minutes later we were at it again. In retrospect what made this especially dangerous is that we'd repeatedly target those that we got the wildest reactions from.

I just finished reading the reporting on MSNBC. Synopsis: cops heard a group of snipers were waiting for them on the roof of a restaurant, just like what happened in Detroit, 1967. Interesting how history repeats itself, wouldn't you agree?

I still can't tell if this Ferguson situation has about run its course or if this is the beginning of a long fuse. Thank God the heat of summer has peaked.

This also would fit on the "Things You Expect to Hear" thread.

One of the TV news foofs said it was a hip hop artist and a friend who were shot. The singer was there to sign autographs.

Woman killed, 3 others hurt in shooting on Detroit's east side

Police think this is related to the HW shooting because it's just down the street from Eastland. GPiD, please.
