At this point, I'm not expecting the Wings to make the 2nd round, but please God, please let the Black Hawks get eliminated so my Facebook feed is rid of typical Chicago sports fan douchebaggery.

Of course, if they keep playing like last night, maybe the 2nd round isn't a stretch.

The Kings didn't make the playoffs and the Flames are in the second round.
Weird.

Former Wing Marcel Pronovost passed away. Also roomed with Terry Sawchuk during most of his time as a Wing.

No shit. The Habs were my rooting interest once the Wings bowed out.

Hate to say it, but Chicago looks the best of the teams standing.

I think the Wings will be OK with Blashill as the next coach. The legion of kids that will eventually replace Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Kronwall know him and it sounds like he's a pretty forward thinking dude. It's not going to be like Dave Lewis, where good cop all of a sudden turns into the boss.

With the exception of the NFL, where about a third to a quarter of the roster can turn over from season to season, it's hard in the big 4 pro sports to stay relevant and/or likable for a long period of time.

And Holland put it well: Playoff streaks are nice, but they don't mean much if they keep ending in the first round.

I would think that the change of scenery was another factor (not to mention 50 million other reasons). 10 years as coach (or player) in one place in this day and age is like an eternity. The days of team loyalty are long gone. Money drives the machine now.

I actually hope Babcock can turn the Leafs around. None of the last 40 coaches/GMs/Presidents they've had have been able to, so to say his job is monumental is a massive understatement.

I hope that's true, but doubt it ...

Not looking too good for sure. At least give Chicago a rough time. Don't let them win in 4.

The shenanigans with not letting people wear other teams jerseys to the arena and not letting people without Florida addresses buy tickets to their games during their games vs. Detroit and Chicago have me siding with the Blackhawks for once in my life. Cowardly horseshit.
