Went riding last night and was home in time to catch the second quarter of the Browns-Redskins game. Preseason or not, it was fucking brutal.

Stealing a line from Drew Magary of Deadspin: RGIII is the best in the league when it comes to getting hit by nine guys on every play.

I watched a bit of that myself.
By using the El Dorado Atmospheric and Oceanic temperatures thermal map. I caculated the contrary direction where the polar jet stream is going and it didn't look pretty.

Watched the 'new' Ray Rice video.

If the NFL claims it never saw this when it conducted its investigation, the NFL is full of shit.
And when it talks its way out of this, I hope the NFL commits to some sort of PSA campaign about violence against women. It's really the absolute least it can do.

And so much for that. The Ravens cut Rice about three hours after TMZ dropped the new footage. Should be fun listening to the commentators find something else to talk about Thursday night when the Ravens host the Steelers.

I fear for the woman's life, now that he will probably blame her for the implosion of his career.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was. Now, what I'm with isn't 'it,' and what's 'it' seems weird and scary.

The AP is reporting the NFL had a copy of the footage of Ray Rice striking his fiancee months ago. The source who told the AP this also played a recording that includes the voice of a woman at the NFL office saying "you're right; it's terrible" on the phone.

Goodell is not going anywhere. The owners have seen the average value of a franchise rise to $1.4 billion since he took over in 2006. Are a handful of people in the NFL office going to fall on their swords over this? Absolutely.

Minnesota Vikings superstar Adrian Peterson has been indicted for child abuse in North Montgomery County, TX.

Reports are he beat a child with a switch. A switch! Like it is 1814.

It's not the weapon; it's how it's used:
The “whooping” – as Peterson put it when interviewed by police – occurred in Spring, Texas, in May. Peterson’s son had pushed another one of Peterson’s children off of a motorbike video game. As punishment, Peterson grabbed a tree branch – which he consistently referred to as a “switch” – removed the leaves and struck the child repeatedly.
The beating allegedly resulted in numerous injuries to the child, including cuts and bruises to the child’s back, buttocks, ankles, legs and scrotum, along with defensive wounds to the child’s hands. Peterson then texted the boy’s mother, saying that one wound in particular would make her “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.”
Peterson also allegedly said via text message to the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I (sic) thigh” and also acknowledged the injury to the child’s scrotum in a text message, saying, “Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!”

The Bills defense leads the NFL in sacks and is second in interceptions.
Imagine where they'd be with a real quarterback.

Watched the first three quarters of last night's game.

Unless the Seattle and New England defenses get lost on the way to the stadium next month, it looks like it's pretty safe to bet the house on those two meeting in the Super Bowl.
