Look for me.

Sure thing, but given that I've never met you, it will help if you stick with the Charo get-up.

I always wear the Charo get-up when I am in San Fran...cuchi cuchi

Our mutual friend who used to live in Fremont is doing his damndest to get out there for one of the first two games, too, I think. He went to St. Louis a few days ago for Game 5 of the NLCS.

I sent him a note last night assuming he was going t try and make it out there. Hope he can.

For all the reasons one can/should/better love the spectacle and awesomeness of the World Series, one perpetual risk is that some lazy newspaper columnist will come out and play the "Robinson Crusoe" card, acting like they've suddenly been dropped on a remote Pacific island with no other way of passing the time than by writing, in gripping details, about their strange and foreign surroundings. You know, except with some baseball thrown in.

This year, Jeff Seidel of the Detroit Free Press is more than happy to take up that mantle, penning a column today on how AT&T Park is such a wacky and weird stadium, even though it's apparent he's only ever attended one game in person. Regardless, he has some important views on baseball by the Bay:

The similarities to his 2006 start were eerie.

On a positive note, after his outing tonight, Valverde is definitely done for the season. Query--what was his old velocity? It seems he now struggles mightily to get to 93.

In Verlander's defense, most hitters never would've even swung at either of the two pitches Sandoval hit.

Fister better have his best stuff tonight.
My hand to God, she's gonna be at Carnegie Hall. But you - I'll let you have her now at the old price, OK? Which is, which is anything you wanna give me. Anything at all.

Fuckin' Blanco has, quite literally allowed the giants to win both of those games.

Two potentail rally killing plays in game one, and then the play on Youngs double to gun down fielder at the plate. And then the bunt that didn't go foul that led to the double play which scored the run.

Having a guy play like that is how you win the series.

I still regret the 2006 season thread was lost in HFD server crash. I think that one surpassed the original crackhead sex thread for most real time "Holy shit, is this is happening?" type posts.

We need to go back over this thread and reacquaint ourselves with the stupid shit that we all said that didn't turn out the way we thought it would.

DD was righter. .229.

Centerfield is not a position where a team can hide a no bat, all glove guy. I think he will add another 10-15 sbs next year, another 5-7 HRs, his strikeouts will drop by 40, and his OBP will climb 30-40 points. Look at what Granderson did between 2006 and 2007. If he can't do that, then there is no reason to have him in the lineup at all, in my humble opinion.

You would have been right if you would have said 10 less SBs, spot on with HRs, he exceeded your expectations on the Ks and OBP. Good prognosticating.

It'll be here. Are you talking about Krotch or Peralta?

The Crotch. Peralta will hit about .290.

.239. I was way off.
