OK....so normally gas down here averages about $.10-$.15 cents less than what it does up in MI (where I live...all of Ohio isn't like this). However, after almost six years of research and countless trips back home I have noticed a pattern.

Gas goes up here one day before it does up there. It's true...on days when I go up there right after the price jumps here, it's cheaper in MI. Until the next day when it corrects. Speedway is the first to hike prices here and everyone else follows suit within hours. The next day the same thing happens up there. I've seen this happen on numerous occasions. You will probably see a jump coming today.......it jumped from around $2.70 to $2.85 last night here.

Soooooo...since I'm manning the forward OP and gathering information is why we man OPs, I will post when there's a dramatic jump in gas here so all of you cockpunchers can get to the gas station and fill up. In case everyone hasn't noticed....gas is creeping up again and it's not even Memorial Day yet......

My theory is that this whole gas price conspiracy is coming from Kentucky, and that it's all their fault. What other explanation can be given?

$0.17 jump yesterday evening from $2.68 to $2.85

I just fill up when I have to anymore. Trying to determine when the price will go down and/or up is like trying to predict the weather around here. It's been like a yo-yo lately, and with a 70-mile-a-day-round-trip commute to work, I don't pay much attention anymore! If I lived closer to work, I'd bike it!

Gas was down 2 cents this morning at Sam's in Roseville: $2.68

Gas is .20 cheaper at 13 and Hoover than it is down here on the east side. Two weeks ago, I filled up for $3.29, when the cost was $3.69 at Mack and Alter.

The same is true Downriver. There is a BP next to my office that's usually 12 to 15 cents cheaper than what it would cost near the neighborhood.

Then again, perhaps stations like the one at Mack and Alter, which do a brisk business in food and beverage (Some sow bought 10 bags of chips and six bottles of fruit punch with her Bridge card when I filled up yesterday ... good to be back!), don't need to offer gasoline as a loss leader.

Making sure the poor stay poor. Hell, the cost comparison I used to make was with condoms. As a public service, they should be free in the city and cost double in the suburbs, but nope.

Under $2/gallon in Iowa. Hoping it makes it way here.
