I did call Apple to complain, and they are looking into this….

Not that this is any consolation, but this is common. The nephew (10 years old) spent a couple hundred dollars downloading books to his Kindle--the kid's a reading fiend. The in-laws couldn't figure out how to punish the kid. After all, he WAS reading. From what I understand, they learned to change a setting on the Kindle so that he had to ask to download books. They also explained to him the difference between Amazon and the library.
