Found these pictures on flickr. Don't know the photographer, but he has some pretty cool pics. Pics?

Clearly if I had the needs and funding I would surely invest here and become the change Detroit needs.

They look like the Detroit Beastie Boys.

I was going to say they look like they were doing a photo shoot for an album of some sorts. And yes, people dressed like that. I myself was starting my cam-o phase in '82.

No. Hat and shirt and vest. Never had the pants. The Clash were very influential.

(I never had the hat with the face covering, though. Wish I did. That would have gotten me kicked out of school)

Basically, I believe you have to do what you love, learning as a loan wolf, before you can join a pack.

I hate to admit that during those years I walked around Milwaukee, and Chicago, with a bandana around my neck.
Now we need a shot of someone with their walkman listening to The Jam, Clash, Buzzcocks, Gang Of Four (by the way they have a new album coming out), or whatever.

At least it wasn't hanging out of your back or front pocket...

And when I say "at least" it is a value neutral term used as a distinguiher and not as a judger.
"Before indoor plumbing and chlorination of the water supply, outliving dysentery required an intestinal fortitude that was considered special. These kids today don’t even give dysentery a second thought."

The coverall-wearing guy looks like a reject from Dexy's Midnight Runners.
